Idealized Baseband Simulation

Simulate single-carrier for RF networks, connect directly to Simulink® blocks, generate C-code

Use the blocks in the Idealized Baseband library to create mathematical models of RF components within the Simulink environment. You can connect blocks in library to other Simulink blocks directly without an input or an output connection block and run the simulations. During the simulation, the model uses complex-baseband representation of the blocks to compute time-domain waveforms.

Idealized Baseband blocks assume perfect impedance matching and a nominal impedance of 1 ohm. This means there is no loading and the power flow is unidirectional. You can use these blocks in digital signal processing to estimate the impact of RF phenomena on overall system performance.

Use the Amplifier block in the library to create a nonlinear amplifier using one of the following methods:

  • Cubic polynomial

  • Saleh model

  • AM/AM-AM/PM

  • Modified Rapp

You can also use the block library with Simulink Coder™ software to generate C code for real-time execution.
